(5/8/19) - Hundreds of runners from around mid-Michigan attended a kickoff celebration for the Crim Training Program.
It was held Tuesday night at Flint Southwestern Classical Academy.
More than 700 people were able to meet with their groups ahead of the official start of training next week.
Organizers say so far, signup levels are even with last year's record-breaking totals.
The program lasts 15 weeks and anyone can take part.
Assistant Race Director Joe Dimambro says, "There's such a wide variety of options. So no matter if you're running or walking, if you're participating in the 5k, the half Crim, or the 10-mile race, there's a group for you. As our saying goes any race, any pace."
Walking groups will meet up at the school at 6:00 p.m. Thursday for a kickoff celebration.
There's still time for runners and walkers to sign up for the training program.
