(2/10/2019) - Emergency crews shut down westbound I-69 from Bristol to Miller roads after a pair of multiple vehicle crashes Sunday night.
It was the most serious in a string of crashes after light snowfall covered Mid-Michigan roads, making them slippery again.
A tow truck driver at the I-69 crash said he saw a semi-truck that flipped and went over the embankment near Miller Road.
Other vehicles were also involved the crash, which shut a portion of the highway around 9:45 p.m. Police could not immediately say how many people were injured or how badly they were hurt.
A separate crash on I-69 near Bristol Road led to crews cleaning up gasoline that spilled over the roads.
Three people, including an infant, were injured in a third crash near the intersection of Fenton and Baldwin roads in Mundy Township. Firefighters say the vehicle slid off the road into the ditch.
At least one person was extricated from the car.
More crashes and slide-offs around the same time slow traffic on U.S. 23 in Fenton and Mundy townships.
