Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, Michigan's chief medical executive, said some signs point to the growth rate of new coronavirus cases slowing in the state. But a lack of testing leaves some questions marks about the spread.
New data from the Department of Health and Human Services shows there are 3,826 patients hospitalized in Michigan with COVID-19, which is the illness caused by coronavirus. More than 1,600 of them are in critical care and more than 1,400 are on ventilators.

Genesee and Saginaw counties mirrored the statewide trend of slower coronavirus growth. Both counties reported fewer new cases of the illness on Thursday compared to Wednesday.
