(2/20/2019) - The Millington Police Department is warning pet owners to be mindful of their activity after coyotes killed some farm animals.
A homeowner on State Road near Bishop Street in the village lost some farm animals to a coyote on Jan. 24.
Coyotes are known to prey on small dogs and cats. Police are warning pet owners to keep a close eye on them outdoors, especially after dark.
Coyotes are fairly common in less populated areas of Mid-Michigan, but encounters with humans and pets are relatively rare.
